  • Engineer Daniel is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Marine Engineering at Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI). He holds master’s of science in Petroleum (oil and gas) Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He studied various courses in Petroleum Engineering including Drilling Technology, Reservoir Engineering and some from Production of oil and gas. During studies, he was passionate in the major three sectors of petroleum values chain for career enrichment and general sectors awareness.In Upstream sector (Exploration, Well drilling and Production), Midstream sector (Processing or refinery and Transportation of hydrocarbon resources) and Downstream sector (Distribution and Retail sales of oil and gas products) were studied. He had an inner interest in oil and gas pipeline transportation due to good background of Fluid Mechanics, Mine Transportation and Materials handling. He's background is tied to extractive industry of minerals and he holds a Bachelor of science in Mining Engineering. He currently teaches Petroleum drilling ,Reservoir Engineering,Oil and gas production, separation, refinery and Transportation. He's research interest areas are Fluid flow behaviour of drilling mud and materials transportation. He is working as part time Teaching staff at Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology in Mine Equipment, Ventilation and Mine Project Development. Eng Daniel prior to joining DMI, has served as an assistant lecture at the University of Dodoma (UDOOM) for more than 3 years. He devoted his time in teaching, research and consultancy services. He majored in drilling technology and Materials transportation (minerals, oil and gas). He has a good experience in quality assurance, as he had worked as quality assurance coordinator at the department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering. Eng Daniel has been active in personal training and development in areas related to professional that led to achieve certification in Fire prevention and fire fight, Elementary First Aid, Personal Survival Techniques, Security Awareness Training, Personal Safety and Social Responsibility and Basic Training for oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo operations. The certification were issued under Regulation VI/1 of the International Convention on standards of Training,Certification and Watch keeping for seafarers (STCW) 1978 as amended (2010),section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-4 of the STCW Code valid from 2022 to 2027.
